Rose Absolute steps into the party and she's giving allure; she's giving an aura of deep self-knowing; she's giving polished-pointed-nail-perfection (in rose red of course). She brings with her a deck of playing cards and gets Black Pepper to play Rummy with her.
The whole room feels her presence. She will probably be the one who brings up death or dark topics to discuss. Some, like the citruses, will sidle away and find other convos but you can bet Black Spruce and Tobacco stick around to chat all things death with her. She is also sought after for relationship and general life advice. When Geranium Rose is stuck in a relationship rut...they go to Rose. When Vetiver can't make a decision...they go to Rose. She is truly a wise, mothering--NOT martyr-ing--presence.
Her sun is scorpio; moon is capricorn; and rising is virgo. She wears lots of silk skirts, punk band t-shirts, and black lace-up boots. She can read your palm. She has the most magical skincare routine.
If she is feeling some mutual electric vibes across the room, she is not afraid to walk up and offer a sexy, sensual night with her (often, it's Jasmine). She calls her bedroom her "boudoir." If she decides to go home solo, she is not the first to leave, neither the last. You won't find her helping to clean up, but instead offering to host in the near future. If she notices a fellow plant crying at the party, she will calmly and quietly chat with them, affirming how wondrous and powerful they are with a gentle squeeze to the arm. She doesn't linger--she wants others to know they can do hard things. She finds something delicious to eat like chocolate cake or nachos and enjoys thoroughly and decadently. She loves it when someone breaks out the karaoke machine, not because she wants to sing, but she loves to hear others sing and to witness their joy.

ROSE ABSOLUTE & THE HOLY FAM:
Many of you know I work with Jesus, Mary, Mary Magdalene, and Joseph as part of my witchery. This is a reclamation practice, as I was raised Catholic and now I am a queer witch, challenging the church's patriarchal and oppressive dogma every day while reclaiming the iconography and witchery of Catholicism. Reimagining the holy family as queer witches has been super healing for me, and I've integrated these reimaginings into the perfumery! As of right not, that simply means I pair plants with holy fam members based on the magic. SO, in its strength, fortitude, queerness, and mysteriousness, Rose aligns with Mary Magdalene. In its motherhood, deep community love, integrity, and truth, Rose also aligns with V. Mary. If you work with either of these deities/saints/insert-your-word-here, Rose is an excellent scent, plant, oil to offer them!
